Garrett County Divorce Records

The Garrett County Circuit Clerk’s office files, processes, and maintains divorce records. Anyone can visit the clerk’s office to view these records in person. They will need to provide the clerk with a case number to facilitate the search. Those who cannot provide a case number may provide the names of the parties involved to help the clerk locate the divorce file. After finding the file, the requester may request copies of the divorce record for a fee.

Individuals can also choose to view divorce records electronically at no cost. The clerk permits online public access to divorce records through the Maryland Judiciary Case Search and Maryland Judiciary Record Search portals. Users can conduct a case number or party search on the portal. Conversely, party access is available through the Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC) database. MDEC is only available to case parties and lawyers, but the courthouse has an MDEC terminal for the public.
